Hello.

I am using my laptop in many different networks on a daily basis. Whenever the DHCP server is NOT functioning, it will take my laptop about 2 minutes before the search for a DHCP server (and valid IP) will finally time out.

Is there a setting somewhere I can change to make my laptop time out in "more like 30 seconds". I can usually tell very quickly if the DHCP server is working in a new network, and 2 minutes is just too long to wait, especially when I have to do this step over and over for some equipment!

Any help appreciated.
Many thanks :)

I have searched all of M$ that I could and ran extensive searches with google. As far as I can find there is no easy way to change the time out. It seems to be built into the windows protocals. If you had linux this would be different... woot for M$
