Any suggestions please - I am getting desperate!
Outlook 2000 keeps closing. I am running Windows XP professional.
Outlook 2000 has never been particularly stable on this computer but used to stay open for 8 hours or more. Over the last 6 weeks it keeps closing after varying lengths of time. If I am using it it tends to stay open longer than if I go to another program. Lately it won't stay open long enough to download emails. This is particularly frustrating because that then crashes the connection and I then have to turn off the computer to reset the connection. It seems to be a random time that it remains open somewhere between 1 minute and perhaps up to an hour (only if I am using it) but I think that has probably dropped to about a maximum of 10 minutes now.
I have tried everything I can think of - I updated outlook I am running SP3. I have used detect & repair and I have reloaded from CD. I have tried a "system restore" going back to a time when it was running OK. None of these worked and I have since reversed the system restore. I am also on auto update for Windows XP.
I need outlook to sync with my PDA (O2 XDA) and I like the program - (when it works).
I thought it might be a conflict with zonealarms pro, but still crashes with ZA turned off. I have scanned for viruses twice (using latest version of Vet).
I have recently connected to ISDN for internet access and installed a new printer (epson photo rx510) and tried (unsuccessfully) to set up a LAN. However, I can't trace the problems to any of these changes.
Outlook is the only program that is having any problems.
Help, please please please.
