It has been a period of time that every time i try to open a picture (mostly JPG format) my PC seems to freeze and after 1 or 2 minutes finally displays the picture. This has only been happening in the last couple months.
Any help in resolving this problem will be greatly appreciated

It could be many things.
It could be that program that opens the pictures.
It could be Windows Registryt settings.
What program do you use?
Have you tried reinstalling it?
Have you run Error Check and Defrag.
You may also want to run a Registry Cleaner such as Ace Utilities.

The delay occurs mainly when I try to attach a JPG fole to an email by ising Outlook.
I suspect my problem is somewhere in the register but I have no idea where tollokk.
I have used the registry cleneaning facility offered by Norton Systemworks 2005 but it does not resolve my problem.
Thanks in advance

Are you sure it is not the AntiVirus is not checking the Image/email?

I am sure it is not the antivirus because I have disabled it and the delay still occurs.

Maybe a disk cleanup would help.
There are utilities such as Ace Utilities that would help with this.
Also do a defrag and ScanDisk.
And maybe a System File Check
