Hey all.

First time here, I hope somebody can help.

Here is some background on my problem

I'm working as a network admin for a private school. Exams are to be written on laptops running Windows XP and Office XP. Students will be writing their exams using MS Word. The laptops have are not connected to our network and have been locked down with use of gpedit.msc. The only things the students will be able to do is write their word document and save it to floppy drive. It is a requirement that they NOT be allowed to make use of the spell check. I need to find a way to disable this. Choosing custom install and disallowing "spelling and grammar" does not work. The spell check for "english" is still availible.

I'm using MSWord instead of Wordpad because I need to change the default save location and that option isn't availible in wordpad.

Any suggestions?

Welcome :)

I'm not sure about the Spell Check, but you can change the default save location in XP.

You can change the registry key for My Documents to any path

Thanks for the quick reply

The redirector does the job..here's the problem. When using "save as" the path still starts in desktop. Even though desktop now saves to A:, instead of it's normal default path, it's stil called desktop. This will confuse students. They won't understand that we've relocated the path.

I don't think there's much more you can do apart for writing out instructions or telling the students where to save to.
