Internet Answering Machine

Can anyone reccomend a reliable internet answering machine utility that works with dial-up?

I don't want to pay an ongoing subscription, just want to make a one-time purchase, and have it work from then on.

Do you want to get the calls or do you want to have an answer machine pick it up? If you want to answer the phone call there is a device called Catch-A-Call whch sells for around $39.99. It allows you to answer any incoming calls if you have call waiting while you are online and if you don't want to answer the phone it will go to your voicemail box.

I am searching for software that will work with my 56 K modem to serve as an answering machine while I am online. I only have one phone line, and I am staying with dialup. The software should be a one-time-only price, not a subscription, and it should not include any adware. It must provide audible notification of an incoming call, and serve as an answering machine in the event I do not pick up. I do not want to have to pay the phone company for call waiting service. Thank you

Wink Re: Internet Answering Machine (While online)

Hi...

I used CallWave in the past... it was free then... don't know about now. I am searching for a program that would allow me to answer incoming calls with my PC... (with a broadband connection) myself.

If you have three way calling you would have to use the *72 to disable, sometimes it would be *72,*72 but it's been a few years since I used it.

I gave a 800 number to my friends, etc... because I didn't have call waiting.
