Don't see anything wrong with what Chris said. ePeople is dead...so why not invite those regulars over here to visit to see if they like our place? You're OK Chris. Bill must of got up on the wrong side of the bed. Happens some times.

Get a clue, they're(ePeople) inviting you to do it. Everyone else has, Tig, the Mac people at Techsurvivors, etc, etc. Even andym has. Besides you're already listed there. See andy's post here: http://mb.epeople.com/ultimate/Forum1/HTML/010114.html

Mishy's already done the rounds there posting the link http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/smile.gif

Yes I added a link here and there but only adding to other peoples shameless plugs.

In reference to such links it is worth in noting that one of the mods from ePeople who goes by the name of andym was nice enough to point ePeoples forums members to other free computing help forums for those who don't want to pay for their support. Cyber Tech Help was mentioned in that list which I found to be a nice gesture bearing in mind what happened to the site.

Bill, although I can totally see where you're coming from http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/smile.gif You might like to take a look through the Windows 95 and 98 boards on their site to see who are actually doing exactly what Irons suggested. You'll find half the BBS you go to are at it.

That isn't to say it's right ofcourse.

OK!! Lets get something straight up front!!!
I was also one of the many that was burnt by nowonder/ePeople!! I'm not going to get into details because everyone has their own story. I have no real love for what happened to nowonder when it was taken over by ePeople just like everyone else.
Although there was some fond memories (yes-when Scott still owned NW) . How many of you all
learned/enjoyed/etc etc back then???

Many have expressed their opinions in the last few days of this announcement by ePeople on
several boards. Fact here is what Mishy stated:
Quote:
ePeople need their profits and don't need any "free help" as do their "support providers" that
get paid by the public to answer their queries.

I can't say I'm happy about the boards closing, but I got rid of my dispondency a long time
ago when their moderators started deleting everyones posts. Gave up on the boards, and on
the site.

'tis a sad day because every member on that board contributed to making that site what it is.
By them closing the boards it's a hell of a resource lost.
end quote.

Then there's some good folks at techsurvivors. Instead of doing a quote just read the thread:

I could go on and on with links/thoughts..blah blah etc etc about what NW/EP meant to many... but why.?.

You all are very much missing the points "plural".

Sense you seem to enjoy kicking a injured/hurt/or even dead horse (per sa) as it was/is stated. Gee...use something when it suits your needs and when it doesn't .................................

Sure one can put a "shameless plug" in here and there, BUT with respect!!!
Like I mentioned above (Mishy-link) is just a few for examples.

Spamming: If a moderator "Ironside" feels that this topic of the thread is justified in recruiting
new blood with a clear conscience, I feel sorry for you Ironside!!!
Sure there is all kinds of arguments/disagreements on this:
quote by Junky:" Don't see anything wrong with what Chris said. ePeople is dead...so why not invite those regulars over here to visit to see if they like our place?"
BY mpc "Get a clue, they're(ePeople) inviting you to do it. Everyone else has, Tig, the Mac people at Techsurvivors, etc, etc. Even andym has. Besides you're already listed there. See andy's post here: http://mb.epeople.com/ultimate/Forum1/HTML/010114.html "

That reminds me..." thanks mpc I didnt know we were listed there you just made my day.
irons"
YEAH RIGHT! like you didn't see/read this thread...
http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000766.html

Again its your own mind/conscience that counts.

Now to you Ironside!!!

*edit* by me

"man i wish you would ease up once in a while"
I'm very easy to get along with so I don't know what you're babbling about??
As a matter of fact I've had a saying that which holds true to this day.
"(WHAT EVER YOU DO-ENJOY IT OR MAKE IT ENJOYABLE)".

" if you really think Im wrong in this I will edit my thread but I really dont see any harm in
bringing this up."

Again its not me who should decide. Its you!

"so if any one else thinks im wrong tell me and I will fix it."
I'm not going to comment on that.... Read the above!!!

"but bill I DIDNT KILL E-PEOPLE" WHAT YOU LIKE HIGH CAPS.

"and i wasnt a member there since scott williams owned it, I dont have any feeling toward that
board.
e-people them selfs said they would help others find other forums,so you tell me what harm is
in asking."

Again read the above....

Anyway anough of this!!!
This board http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ is just now starting to receive/get real true respect from other boards let alone the net as a whole!!! Mishy is one person which I will respect ten/twenty years down the road without a doubt! You ironside as a MOD should think about that sense you're his representative.

Ironside as I've stated above I'm easy to get along with but when you attack me on a personal level for an opinionated subject, I will not walk away from that!!

BILL

PS..Mishy I just read your last post. Never the less what I'm stating will stand.

Man, I'm missing something here. The people that run ePeople are inviting everyone to post where everyone can move to, even posting those places themselves. So what's the big deal here? Spamming is sortta like when you have not been invited to advertise, right? Well, we been invited. So what's the big deal here. What am I missing? Please help. I'm sooo confused. http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/confused.gif

Bill I will apologize for the bite me remark
quote by Iron " I felt you attacked me and I was responding back, so if you didnt intend for you rough remarks at me personally then im sorry."

That makes very little sense?.?
There was only two post then (yours and mine).
Of course I was attacking you! I'm not denying that one bit!!! I was giving my opinion of your lack of judgement/common sense and most importunately your lack of respect (or decently) for something that meant alot to many peoples across the net (not just CTH or you), but apparently you did not read or understand my last post. If you did indeed understand my last post and its entire context, you would not of replied in such a manor. [<--I could/should of stated somewhat differently but I'm still in a good mood]

Mishy,Rom,Tig and some others all did their bit "shamless plugs" on the 98/95 forums and even some on the Mac side. Each and everyone (except one) did it with Tact/Class and each and everyone made comments to the respect of how it used to be and what became of it ("EP"). They all said it was wrong to do so. Sure everyone is doing it and EP also seems to approve. Andy even posted the limited links to other tech boards. Does that make it right? Of course it doesn't. OR lets put it another way; does two wrongs make it right.

Which leaves your last comment:
"but my topic stand the way I wrote it. I moderate this forum and I ask for more members through members thats my job to get more members here."

Fine! One can not see anything wrong with that in the least. Although (maybe?) some more
thought could of been given to your first post. Re-read the above perhaps?
