wt kernel--Wild tangent problem

i have a weird problem. i uninstalled weather bug from a friends computer only to have an wt kernel error come up. I followed recommendations on how to correct that problem but now i get several different errors about missing system files for wild tangent? there is no wild tangent program on the computer so i am really confused. i can't download Hijack either because although i can pull up a main page, i cannot get the computer to search on the net. none of the .exe files work i have to change them all to .com to get them open.

those were the instructions i followed to remove it in the first place. when i went to run regedit, i found out that the exe files were not working on the computer. is there any way to get the exe files working again?
