images not showing as thumbnails

For some reason my images don't show as thumbnails anymore. the only files that actually show up are bmp and png files
I posted a picture to show what I mean..

can someone tell me how I can get my folders back to showing images as the icons instead of icons?

what operating system? Did you recently uninstall anything? anyway give this (http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/29/%20) a try..

I'm using windows 2000.. I had uninstalled photoshop then re-installed it (because it was acting funny and wouldn't open) after that my thumbnails wouldn't show at all. I don't think photoshop had anything to do with it though because they use to show up as thumbnails before I got photoshop..

I tired the right click--> "open with" option but they still show up as icons

Just a couple of suggestions...try changing the photos to bmp or jpeg files. If you can get them saved as these, the image viewer in Windows can read them. I had accidently set my PhotoSuite to save as pdf files and it created all kinds of grief for a while.

Uninstall the PhotoShop completely and see what form your photos are saved as...you may be able to open them with the "open with" function, then see them as thumbnails.
