I am using w2k. When I go to Start, Run and type "cmd"<enter>, I get into a dos window ok but if I type "command" <enter>, I get an error message...
"c:\winnt\system32\autoexec.nt The system is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application." It is my understanding that "command" and "cmd" are equivalent in w2k. What is wrong with my operating system installation?

Hi and welcome to Cyber Tech Help.

Not true.
Here's a little "light" reading..

:)

The main difference from an end user point of view is that CMD supports long filenames (not just 8.3 DOS filenames).

In Win2k and above, you should be using the CMD.exe command interpreter unless you are intending to run 16bit DOS apps.
