safe mode problems explorer errors

explorer caused an invalid page fault in module explorer.exe @ 0167:00401f31 i tried most of the stuff in the internet , itried to reboot in safe mode and when i do that it gives me the same message , also tried command promt and when i type c:\explorer.exe explorer.old , nothing happens it says file not founf or file missing , please help me this is frustrating..

Hi temo3000,

I didn't see in your "i tried most of the stuff in the internet " where you did a restore. If you return to the command prompt, and this time type scanreg /restore (note the space after scanreg) and hit Enter to restore the registry before the problem started. From the list shown choose a date with "Started" next to it, and not the oldest date.
