If I update to windows XP, will i lose all my stuff?

I'm thinking about updating my OS to windows XP.....will I lose all my progs and stuff if I update?

Howdy:

Depends on what you are using and how you go about doing it..

If you have a full install version of XP then there is no choice.. all you can do is partition, format and install.. If you have the upgrade version, then you can do a simple upgrade..

The clean install is the way to go as upgrading usually compounds any problems you were having with the old OS..

You can't upgrade from the Windows website as NO Microsoft operating systems are available on the net legally..

You MUST purchase XP if you want to upgrade!!
