video mode not responding ?

My sister bought a 15" lcd monitor last week everthing going fine until today and yesterday bought a richoh digital camera. today the monitor displays 'video mode not supported ' we are both dummies when it come to computers whats happening / can it be fixed
the computer boots up then goes blank then displays message any help would be apprecated

how are you hooking it up? what type of monitor? What are you doing when you get the error?
