Well, I've tried just about everything to find out exactly what's wrong with my computer, and I've succeeded in fixing a couple of things, but one error remains when I start up my computer:
"Cannot find the file '-DONTRUNOLD' (or one of its components). Make sure the filename are correct and that all libraries are available." I have tried searching for this problem online, but it just comes up with a bunch of NIMDA virus explanations, which I'm pretty sure I don't have because I've looked in my system.ini thing, and the line is just "shell=explorer -dontrunold" with no "load.exe" in it. I'm new to this forum and desperate for help! Thank you so much. |

Hi lizzie sz,
The -DONTRUNOLD command doesn't belong in your system.ini file. Good chance it was placed there by some virus activity (in this case, a NIMDA variant). To be safe, you should assume you do have some malware loaded, and do some of the following: 1 - Update your current AV program and run a scan. 2 - Follow Panda's suggestions Here. They also offer a free (registration required) removal program download, but I have not tried it. 3 - Follow the CTH Cyber Safety instructions Here. Good luck, Tom |

Two of the most common:
W32.Nimda.A@mm and W32.Nimda.E@mm Removal Tool See if this will help. Read directions carefully. Good luck.
