Hope someone can help...I turn on computer, sometimes I get screen where you select 1. Normal...2.?..3. Safemode, etc.. I tried selecting Normal, but just get a black screen with cursor in upper left corner. So I select Safe Mode. sometimes I get to safe mode, sometimes black screen again. I reinstalled win 98, and maybe didn't give it enough time, so this morning it seemed to be finishing the reinstall. I somehow got into a win 98 screen, and tried to burn my files onto a disk. says it burned successfully, but nothing on the disk it seems. I ran liveupdate for Norton AntiVirus 2004 as I was going to scan for viruses, said it needed to restart to get more updates...so I did, now back to black screen w/cursor. Ok now in safe mode...???!!!

Any suggestions?? Need help ASAP...this is my work computer!

Thanks,

Yes, I did that and restored it from a previous date...but why does this happen?? Something like this happened once before, about a year ago? I just didn't remember what to do. Is my computer dying?

Thanks,
