How can I change my screen resolution while working in the Winfile Shell rather than the Explorer Shell? My Explorer shell does not work (see thread "Screen Is Empty - Help") so I am working out of the Winfile shell. This works ok, but I don't have a control panel to change resolution. My resolution got changed (I think my son tried to play some game) and I can't get it corrected.:upset:

Hi tadrian, open Winfile and go to File > Run and type the below command:
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL
Control Panel will open. Is Explorer.exe still on your drive?

Ann Marie, thanks for your help. Yes, Explorer.exe is still on my drive, but when I run in the Explorer shell, my screen has no icons or toolbar. I have so far been unsuccessful in getting it corrected.

Hi tadrian, let's try and fix it. I want you to see if you can get Explorer running. Open Winfile and go to File > Run and type Explorer.exe and click ok. Does your Desktop etc load now?
If so, go here (http://degs.cybertechhelp.com/files/hijackthis.exe ) and download the latest version of Hijack This. Unzip it and click on scan. Most of the files listed will be harmless and/or required so do not make any changes, just click on Save Log, copy it and post it back in this thread.
