can anyone please help i have a gateway computer quite old running windows 98 i started having problems a few weeks ago but i managed to start it.
the problem is windows wont load it starts to load but then comes up with a screen saying 1 normal 2 bootlog 3 safe mode and so on.it wont start in any.last week i had the same problem but was able to fix it by going to command prompt only and typing in scanreg /restore and restoreing it from a previous day.it worked for a week but has now crashed again and when i go to retore it there is not any good options to restore it from.
please help as i miss my comp and cant realy afford new one.
a friend has also tried to reinstall windows but it wont do that either it gets so far and then says needs to restart ,switches itself of but wont carry on loading windows .
when it says need to start comp it says while initialising device VKD windows protection error.any ideas will be greatfully received.:dizzy:
