banner ads for google don't rake in that much dough, i'd reckon. other than that i've seen no paid memberships or popups, no other ads. how does a fine institution such as this one make the cash to keep going?

The "staff" here actually come pretty cheap. :( We're all volunteers devoting our spare time (and admittedly some of our bosses time for those of us that check in while at work, not me you understand, nudge nudge, wink wink) for the reward of knowing we're helping others solve their problems with these glorified home appliances.

The site owner on the other hand...

Well last I heard, he's sold just about every body part in order to finance this operation and is now just a disembodied brain connected to a computer terminal... and you all wonder why he's never posted his photo...
