MS word problem, can you help???

Hi i hope someone can help

Whenever i open some ms word files it says

The document name or path is not valid. Try these suggestions
*Check the file permissions for the document or drive
*Use the file open dialog box to locate the document
(C:\....\my files.doc)

I can not load anyof these sort of files

Have i lost my data completely??? or is this file corrupt?? http://images.techguy.org/smilies/eek.gif

I need to access this document

How can i do this and access this word file??? Hope someone can help

How are you trying to open the doc file...from the Start Menu, in Word's File>Open, in Windows Explorer, as an attachment in an email message, some other way?

Do you have Microsoft Word installed? If so, will Word open and function normally (other than opening that one file)?
