Seems I was a little off my mind, when I searched the the net for help on this Problem.
I exactly did what AnnMarie told us not to do.

I deleted the Windows-file csrss.exe

To give me a real hard time i although searched the registry for this file and deleted every line with csrss.exe in it.

After that I tried to reboot and the computer hung up with a blue screen, told me to try to boot in safe mode but won't work.

Is there a way I can repair the "messed up" registry without loosing my data files ?

Can i just install W2K over the existing?

Welcome to CTH Biker. I moved your topic to the Win2K Forum.

Whether or not you deleted a valid Windows file, depends on the location of the file. If you found csrss.exe in your C/Winnt folder, then you deleted a malware file and your problem will be in the registry.

Microsoft offer a registry repair utility for Windows 2000. See here (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=56D3C201-2C68-4DE8-9229-CA494362419C&displaylang=en)

However, if you deleted csrss.exe from your C/Winnt/System32 folder, yep you have deleted a critical file and a repair install would be your best bet. See here (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=238359)
