I don’t need it. But for some reason. I can not hear it anymore. And that is the sounds of my phone line when I dial up my ISP now. I have checked every thing, <I think> and all the volume controls, the volume is up. And nothing is muted.

I miss that aggravating noise. <kinda>

This is just one of a several little things that seem to change on there own from time to time.

Ps. I really want to learn some of the technical workings of the computer, before our mental telepathy evolves enough that computers are obsolete.

grrrrr.:disgust:

Thank you.

Or actually, the opposite of them, as they are about disabling the sound. :D

Thanks Gary. it looks like i am going to have to go into the advanced and try it that way. but i use to be blonde, <smiles> so i understand that i have to type in the extra options, but,,,,,,, if i am to type in "AT L=O to lower the sound. L stands for "lower" i assume. L could stand for "level" , <omg> I'm an idiot i know, hell L could even stand for LOUD . <sorry> but just what the !*&#@ do i type to raise the volume.

I cant wait to hear it,, i have just a little over a week and they should have my cable service to my door.... ..... and i cant wait for some new problems.... lol

another dumb question, but i know with dial up that you have to be concerned with dialers. or redirect dialers. that send you to timbuck2 to another host. i know that i do not have to worry about my phone being charged by having someone redirect charges to my ph. when using cable, but do i still have to worry about being redirected from my cable ISP.. to some other host? what if you would do i have to worry about the most with having cable ISP service please?

Roxie, cable modems are silent. I think bAdWaYz is yankin' your chain. :D

And it's not AT L=O, it's AT L=0 with a ZERO at the end. L is for level (I believe) and the number should influence the volume level. Try 2 or 3? (Been a long time since dial-up for me).

when using cable, but do i still have to worry about being redirected from my cable ISP.. to some other host?
I've never heard of anything like that, not in the form you're thinking anyways.

Cable modems don't actually dial a phone number as such, they just give the exchange equipment some extracommands for your line. No worries about hte dialler scams there.
