Things used to be fine on my computer until a few days ago, when playing any kind of video file (AVI, WMV, MPEG, OGM) in any player (Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic) there is a good 1-3 minute lag before it starts to play. During this time there is little to no activity listed for the player's process in the task manager. The files eventually access right and load fine. I have tried rebooting and updating my video card drivers, but there has been no change. It also does not matter what Hard Drive the file is on and whether it is new or old. After opening the file, the players themselves open fine like normal, it just sits there for minutes until finally playing. Can anyone help?
