Hi,
I have a Network question.
I can't get it ansewered in the Network forum neither in in the XP forum. So my last hope is here:
A friend has 2 PCs on a home network. Hub between PCs only (a 3rd PC will follow)
I dislike a shared-name I entered for 2 HDD’s. One on PC1 and one on PC2. The systems doe not allow me to edit these names. What must I do to be able to change these names? I tried to disconnect all network drives (undo mapping) both sides - still not possible to change the name.
I disabled in both PCs the connection between the PCs - still not possible to change the name.
I disconnected all network cables - still not possible to change the name.
Any advice, please?
Someone told me, mapping of (network-) drives is not required with XPpro anymore? Correct ? Wrong?

Host, PC1: AMD 800 MHZ, 512Mb, 40 GB, XPpro (one of the 1st ones), SP2
'slave (client)' PC2: Celeron 2.4 GHz 512 MB, 80 GB, XPpro disk with SP2.
