My beloved dawg died a few months ago...he'd had a brain tumour.....and 6 months before that he had to have his spleen removed. He was 11 years old and he'd had a happy life right to the end. Other dog lovers will know its like losing a member of the family. I got a few pics here if anyones interested. :)

Sorry to hear the news, Rich. Here are some pics of my dogs. Enjoy! :D
Rayden (http://img218.echo.cx/img218/5434/dsc012749io.jpg) (childishly named after a classic Mortal Kombat character) is mostly Chow and I believe a small part Golden Retriever. Nearly 10 years old and, yes, he has a purple tongue. ;)
Nakita (http://img218.echo.cx/img218/7404/dsc008737mm.jpg) (named before we got her) is half Chow and half Black Lab. She was only about 2 years old, and had attacked Rayden, over food usually, on countless occasions, so we gave her to one of my fathers friends who has always wanted a dog. She's great alone, but very jealous of other dogs, very possessive I suppose. Oh, and no purple tongue... :)

Your dog was just great-looking, Rich! I'm so sorry, too. There is nothing like a dog, to me. I love dogs, I just love them! They are truly man's best friend!
Gosh, it's too bad Rayden and Nakita couldn't make it together, but somebody else was made a happy owner. Very interesting looking dogs there!
I'm counting on the pics, guys!

Even though it was a couple of months ago, I can feel your loss. Dogs really become members of the family. I've always had a couple around. Mostly labs as they are such "people" dogs. Currently have a 8 yr old yellow lab that just adores my 5 year old son.

Sorry to here about your loss. He was adorable. Its tough seeing them go through all that trama. Take care.
BTW _ I have a 1yr old boxer named Chester. (I'll dig up a pic and post later) He's definitely part of the family, though I'm still trying to convice him he's not Alpha.
And in the spirit of equal time. We have two 15 yr old cats (Suki & Zoey). Even they grow on you over time. :)

Thanks for all the good wishes.....I've still got his son here; they used to fight too like Rayden and Nakita and we had to keep 'em separated for the last 4 years.

I was cussin' my dog out last night at 1AM. It seems she cornered a skunk in our back yard, about 50' from my bedroom window which was open of course...Now the whole house has that wonderful odor!! Dumb dog, gotta love them though.

I'm sorry for your loss man the dog was beautiful. I know what its like and its never easy. Now as for my dog hehe she's a year and a half old Great Dane and she's a sweet dog, but very picky eater. Anyhow here she is her name is Adi "short for Admin" yes geeky to name the dog after a computer term :)

Adi looks like Scooby-do's cousin! Remarkable. All the dogs posted here are quite handsome beasts, but even the ugliest pooch can get right under your skin when you get to know them. It's always a big hit when they pop their clogs.
Too embarrased to post pics of my mutts here. The gf has got a bichon-frise, White Fang and eldest daughter has a miniture poodle, Tyson. (Tilly and Purdy, really).
When I find a pic of my 2nd favourite dog ever, Heidi (killer dobe, had her when I was 14 for 8 years) I'll post the three together. Sadly, no pictures survive of one of her pups, Red, who was my favourite dog ever. We bred Dobermans when I was kid right up to my 20's so we've had a few, plus about 10 Collie's for rounding up sheep and cattle, a corgi (nastiest bugger we ever had) and squillions of Jack Russels for keeping the rats out of the corn silos and hay ricks.
Sadly don't have enough land for a big mutt, hence the lapdogs for the girls.

Awww, Rich. :( Our dog is fourteen now and I know it will not be long before she is chasing woolies in the sky. Like Casper, Suzie has had a happy life since we found her (she was abandoned by her original owner when she was six months old). She's a border collie/spaniel cross.

Y'know, I have to say that our members have very superior looking dogs. :D

OK, I want to add my photo too...where is a good place to have photos on line that isn't a hassle, etc so I can have a url? STINKY DOG (just because she cornered a skunk last night) is a yellow lab about 8 years old that we got from the pound on her last day.

Just a note to anyone that doesn't want to sign up for photobucket or the like if you email me with the photo I'll be happy to host it for you and give you the url if you want to link it other places as well. I would have to agree with Annie in that our members all seem to have superior looking dogs! Her doggie looks as sweet as pie. I know for a fact that Zip's dog is an awesome puppy. He's huge for a golden and loves everyone he meets.

Here is my 4 year old male lab. We found him in February 4 years ago freezing and alone. I melted when I saw him in my hubby's jacket, no bigger than his hand.

:dizzy: OK, let's give this a try. Amy the lab is about 8 years old and we adopted her from the pound the day before she was supposed to be euthanized. The pup adopted us about a month ago. Cute boy is my 5 year old son Tristan.

OK guys, It's a 1952 Hudson Hornet. I didn't think I'd run into any car guys on this forum but that's great!! Thanks for putting the tag on for me, I'll learn it eventually. And above all, I think there are some exceptional dogs owned (who owns who?) by forum folks. Thanks for letting me share.

Get out!!!! A Hudson Hornet?? Likely the coolest car ever built, anywhere!
You wanna sell it cheap? :D
Tristansdaz
June 30th, 2005, 05:37 AM
Nope, I could probably put you in touch with folks that have some for sale though. I usually prowl around the ClassicCar.com forum as "back to hudsons". My first car was one and I wish I had never let it go...Really great cars. There's quite a few in the South still, saw a couple on EBay last week that were restorable.;) Thanks for the good words!!
