how to enable see hidden files in folder options

In order to check out a file I need to enable .. see hidden files in folder options and also disable Hide system protected files ,can someone please tell me how to do this

Is that option not available via Tools > Folder Options > View tab? Should be in the list in that window. I'm not too familiar with NT, so maybe the location of this setting is elsewhere? :)

thanks I found it but it came with a warning.To delete or edit a protected operating system file can make the computer inoperable,this made me hesitate!

All you're doing by "un-hiding" system files is making them visible. You can then look at the system files all you want to. As long as you don't actually try to manually "delete or edit" a file that Windows absolutely must have in order to operate there won't be a problem.
