I'm just looking at your sig and your certs...my head is hurting trying to make sense
of why you'd be in that particular dilemma.

LOL wholy this is getting to be a strange place. LOT of moderators putting down simple users.

Thanx for the encouragements I know now NOT to post any questions looking for help.

BTW it was a firewall taken out a year ago that was stopping it but I guess I should have known that.

Simple end users don't often come with A+, MCSE, MCP, ect ect. I don't think anyone here meant anything by their remarks but you have to know if you put a heap of certs in your sig people are going to expect and hold you to a higher standard than an "end user". While this might not be fair or even right its sadly just how things work. Kinda like if you go in for a heart bypass you would expect the doc to know what the left ventricle is or at least how it works on a basic lev. You are more than welcome to post here and feel free to ask questions. Just keep in mind if you put yourself out there expect to be tested.

I've already advised them I was the one that sent you the PM and it was posted in the Mod forum for all to see..

As bAdWaYz stated, you came in showing off a pile of certifications and credentials with your stats stating you were the IT Manager with the City of Kelowna and having worked in the RCMP Forensics lab.. Yet, you are having problems setting up a simple XP network.. That starts alarm bells ringing for everyone ..

I don't know of any IT Specialists that would have any trouble what-so-ever with that yet I do know of a pile of script kiddies that could give me the link to the website you provided in your last email to me..

If you are whom you say you are, then more power to you but, based on your question concerning a simple peer to peer network, you would have to admit, things did not look kosher in the State of Denmark..

In either case, a belated Welcome to CTH..

Murray

Please don't contact me Murray,

p.s
never ONCE said I worked for City Of Kelowna or EVER said I worked "in" the RCMP forensics lap.

I am from Kelowna and I have worked with the RCMP as a "independant"
