Eat your hearts out folks,,,
20.4 Kbps
staggering isn't it ?
This is my DSL < Download Seen Later> only has one setting.. Grrrrrrrrrrradual.
with up grades to Trickle, coming soon.
there is a plus to this tho..... very little history, or temp. internet files to delete.
ok,, now to get serious. the reason that i came here was to ask what in the world do i check when it takes some times a minute plus, to just a few seconds to open a page in my browser. if i watch my connection icon in the lower right hand corner of my monitor, my connection activity is all but nothing.. there may be 15 seconds or so, that nothing is happening even tho in the progress bar, it shows that its opening the page. why doesnt my connection keep transmitting information. or why am i not recieving it ? hope it was ok to ask this here. ?

Your Speed is: 1676.3 Kbps
Not too bad today, have seen it up in the 4500 range once in a while. I'm going through a LinkSys router. I am on wireless with a tower about a mile from my house.

Average of about 2100kb/s. Not bad considering there are 4 others PC's and 2 laptops using the same connection in my house (with family members doing God knows what right now on them). I'm very happy with it. :)

Roxie,
Take yourself to dslreports.com check tools. There are line quality monitors, speedtests and forums for speeding up your download speeds.
I doubled my download speeds using tools at www.dslreports.com.
There are also forums for customers of a number of service providers. In my case, the provider followed the forum closely and I used this to help get my speeds up.
Cheers
