No more "Twice Nightly" for Whiteley! Very sad, he was a great character.

Funny thing was, me and the GF were watching some tat on ITV the other night and it was about Richard's GF.

Loved that email that did the rounds a few years back with his Countdown tie. Pure class.

Cue all the "da-da-da-da-biddly-BOOOOM" type jokes about him arriving at the pearly gates.

It was a shock....although he was ill, I didn't think it was that serious.
He was one of those people you just never expected to not be there.

Richard Whiteley will be missed by many. i remember when he first started on YTV and the episode with that ferret which he was never allowed to forget. Some of his jokes and puns were that bad you had to laugh.May he rest in peace. A great bloke.

Moorlander, what was that Yorkshire Post headline about the ferrets? I only half caught it when someone was paying him a tribute on the news.

My favourite show was when one contestant gave a six letter word, the other seven.

When Richard asked for the six letter word, the contestant replied :-

WA***ER

He quietly asked (behind the sniggering audience)the second contestant for the seven letter word who replied :-

WA***ERS

Gyles Brandreth then piped up from dictionary corner :-

" You should know all about that Richard "

Oh, how I laughed.
