DVD to videotape

I am dubbing from DVD onto VHS videotape. So far, most DVDs have no problem, but one tape showed thin red lines running horizontally through the taped image. I use a video stabilizer meant to deal with Macrovision, but the red lines won't go away. Ideas?

If it looks ok when you play the DVD, but not on the tape, could it be some form of copy-protection? Are you trying to copy it directly to the tape and, are you able to, and what happens if you do, copy it to your computer?
