I need some help on this one. I need software to animate and a tutorial on how to animate. But I can't find anything on google or other places. I've searched around. Anyway, so what type of files are required for animation, where can I get them and how can I edit them?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Chipstein22

There are several ways that I have done animations.

1) Maya (http://www.alias.com/eng/index.shtml) This is what they have used in Toy Story I think. It's quite a lot but I think you can downlaod a demo

2) 3D Studio Max (http://www4.discreet.com/products/) . Similar to Maya. Ive used maya more so I cannot comment much on it. I know people who use it and like it though.

3) Program! If you use C++/Java (and Im sure many other languages) you can use OpenGL (http://www.opengl.org/) to code graphics. This will require knowledge of vector maths and the more complicated the animation the harder the coding.

As for free progs I dont know any Im afraid
