Im on Windows XP Professional and i have a microsoft broadband wireless router and a MN-710 microsoft usb adapter running on my computer. well here's my problem....

I can download up to 4Mbps if i connect the router to my computer using a CAT 5E cable. on the other hand, if i used my MN-710 adapter, i can only download at about at 3Mbps at MAX. is there anyway to fix this? The signal strength is really good, it looks like it's maxed out and it says "connection speed: 11 Mbps"

anyone know what's wrong?

There is likely nothing wrong and if you get 3mb's over a 4mb connection you are doing very well. The fact of the matter is wi-fi is slower than a wired connection. I don't care what anyone tells you. I could post a huge heap of tech mumbo jumbo at you but the real world bottom line is that a wired connection "at least right now" will be faster than a wi-fi. You could try a signal booster or maybe a range extender but my money is on the 3mb's is as fast as you are gonna get over that wi-fi.
