Hi guys
I admisister a network all runnin 2k pro

There are various printers, some deskjets in directors offices and downstairs a colour laser printer on network its a p2p network tcpip

the printer dissapear for no reason (deskjets) and the laser printer just gets unable to connect again randomly on a couple of PC's works perfect on some its sparadic and random printer disapearing

if u reboot the pc that the deskjets are attached to they will reapear or if u re-install all seems fine for a day or so, the network printer has a unable to connect permission denied error yet if you connect to another pc in the workgroup in network places and goto the printer there, and go connect, it works again instantly.

is this a known problem anyone got any ideas ? with it being onver serveral printer and several PC i dont think its the printers could it be a network worm or something?

Hi there.
Would you mind giving a bit more info on the network setup?

Connectivity is achieved with...
Hubs?
Switches?
Routers?

Printer connections - Parallel or USB?

When a printer disappears, does it disappear from all currently logged in clients at the same time? i.e. Printer "hp1" is connected to PC "Steve" via Parallel port. PC "Joe" can see printer "hp1", PC "Fred" can see printer "hp1". Next minute "Joe" loses connection to "hp1" but "Fred can still see it.
