Did anyone else get the update of MS AntiSpyware tonight?

Nope.
I go out and update mine manually. I think the last update (for me, anyway) was Tuesday. Nothing today.

I have mine update auto but this update I just got tonight was an update of the whole program. I have this info on it:
Microsoft AntiSpyware Version: 1.0.614
This version expires on: 12/31/2005
Spyware Definition Version: 5729 (6/25/2005 10:45:31 PM)

I think I'll keep the 'old' version a few more weeks. The newer version seems fairly buggy (yeah, I know it's Beta....):

I got it. I hardly use it now because the set scan is for 2am and the PC is not on as it used to be.

I'm with dammit on this one. I usually download the updates, but not the AntiSpyware tool. Don't see any reason to at this point.

I usually download the updates, but not the AntiSpyware tool.
What?? You download the updates for a program you don't have? Explain, please. :fyi:

Not the AntiSpyware updates, zip. Just some of the hotfixes and whatnot. I'll be honest, though, and say that I never really read about what they are, I just don't want any more "tools" at this time.

OK, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but why would you agree with dammit's asessment of not using MicrosoftAntiSpyware (which, BTW, is awesome) if you've not used it yourself?? :fyi:

Simply because I'm satisfied with things now. I don't feel the need to download anymore security programs, even if it's awesome. ;)

when it comes to downloads I'm all for "to each his or her own" but as for me I'ma beta testin' kinda guy. I don't "need" MS AntiSpyware but since I like to tinker I have it. I will agree that so far it is a very good tool and for an end user that doesn't know that much about spyware or how to defend against it I would tell them to pick it up for sure.
