Hi, I recently was going to play a LAN game that required IPX, and added that to my network protocols, and ever since I haven't seen it in Network Connections. I can connect to the internet as always, but I cannot see any other computers on the network, nor can they see me....help! (btw I did NOT try to play the LAN game afterwards to see if it would work because we decided not to, so I would assume I'm not able to play LAN games at the moment either)

Hi Mug,
Sorry for the delay lets see what we can do to help you out. First let me ask you this question. After you decided not to play the game did you leave the IPX protocol installed or uninstall it from your network stack? Also what ver of Windows do you run? Have you re-run the network setup wiz?

Well I had to leave the IPX on, because I can't get into the thing to take it off because LAN doesn't show up in network connections. I'm running XP SP2, and yes I've tried re-running the network wizard, and it still doesn't make the LAN connection show up.

If no lan connection shows up in network connections sounds like maybe your NIC isn't being seen by windows anymore. When you go and look in device manager do you see a listing for your network adapter? If so does it have a ! or a ? beside it? This however would seen odd based on your statement of

"I can connect to the internet as always"

On that computer if you type ipconfig /all what does it say?

No, the NIC shows up completely normal. Here's a readoff of what I get when I do ipconfig /all...

Mug have you tried to uninstall the card then reinstall? Since this is an onboard adapter you might need to have the drivers handy.
