router region

my netgear router has an option to change the region. if i change the region will the signal on the wifi get stronger? since i know that the fcc regulates broadcast strenth here

It depends on what region you are in. Your region may not have tight regulations on Wi-Fi signals. If you are in a region that would limit the strength of your Wi-Fi signal, then yes, it may be possible to change the region to improve the broadcast strength. Keep in mind though that this is probably illegal, and I advise against doing so. Whilst it may be true that even at maximum strength your router couldn't possibly interfere with any surrounding devices, I do not endorse that action, and neither I nor this forum will be held responsible for any damages you cause or punitive action taken against you.
