Connect Computers

Hello,
I was wondering if there was a way to connect two computers together. I dont want mean like through a router or whatever. Just have the two computers right beside each other and have a wire going from i guess the USB or Network Adapter port to the same on the other computer? Would I use a USB or network wire? Is this possible!?

Howdy:

You betcha.. Just a simple peer to peer network.. You use a Cat5 crossover cable and connect it to the NIC in each system..

Some good info can be found at www.practicallynetworked.com

Thank you very much. I check around briefly for already posted information but it is a well known fact that you mods know your stuff haha. You guys can usually help very quickly. I will check out that site and see if I can't get this working.

Hi murtaza,

We would love to help you out but do ask that you start your own thread as piggybacking isn't a good thing. Also if you could maybe be a bit more clear as to what you need help with.
