on this one site only i get a window with the following text: 'Your current security settings prohibit running Acive X controls on this page. As a result, the page may not be displayed correctly'

what does this mean exactly and how do i get rid of it?

Generally that means that your firewall will not allow complete access to the page or site. I would not turn the firewall off to access the site unless I was 100% sure of the content. It has been my experience that these sites will usually install some malware or at least spyware on your computer.

Your can access the site by turning off your firewall and/or AV software.
