I have been using File Manager in Win98. I am now being forced to upgrade to Win2000. Does anyone know if File Manager will work in Win2000? The executable file is WINFILE.EXE. (Its okay that it only handles 8-character file names). If it does not work in Win2000, is there some other equivalent? I do not want to use Windows Explorer...it does not have the features I need. Thanks!

I know that start>run>winfile works in NT4, but it's not part of 2k.
There's a particularly non commital Microsoft document (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q239643) about this - if you do an upgrade rather than a clean install it "may" still be there and it "may" still work, but seemingly your milage may vary.
Windows Explorer does take some getting used to but I personally find it a lot of better than the win 3.x file manager
