Question Firefox Questions

Hi, i've started using firefox recently and I was wondering if anyone knows how you make all links open in a new tab instead of a new browser window? Also, my mouse has forward and backward buttons on the left side for moving through web pages and this doesn't work in firefox, only internet explorer. Can I configure this to work in firefox? Thanks!

For the tabbing question: In Firefox, go to Tools>Options, click on Advanced in the left-hand pane, then on Tabbed Browsing in the right-hand pane, check "A new tab in the most recent window," click OK.

You can also open links in a tab by clicking on them with the mouse wheel.

Probably the most complete extension used by many, many people to control Tab behaviour and other Tab related functions (Single Window mode, Tab focus, Tab opening order, Highlight unread tabs etc etc) is Tab Mix Plus.

I recommend you uninstall any other Tab related extensions as Tab Mix Plus covers many other single function extensions.

Once installed you can access the options via the Tools menu.

If you have difficulty with downloading/installing you can get the most recent version here.

I also use Firefox and my mouse also has the two buttons on the left side. I (as you should also be able to) in "All Programs" open the program which came with my mouse that I downloaded and configure the buttons to do "whatever", page forward/backward, print, send, spell,..whatever!

Good Luck!

There's a couple of extensions aimed at people who prefer mouse usage you should take a look at called All In One Gestures and Mouse Gestures.
