This is the THIRD time I have had to type/copy-paste this as IE crashed before I could finish it... which is another of my problems. :(

My computer system is this
AMD Duron 1200 Cpu
Epox EP 8KTA3L+ (Bios not available on epox site )
Savage 4 16mg AGP Video Card
256 mg Ram
80 gig Seagate Barracuda Hard drive (4 partitions)
I have intermittent, crazy problems, that are enough to make me want to just buy a new motherboard, cpu and WinXP and be done with it, but I thought I would give it one last try. So I am hoping for your help.
When I boot up, sometimes I get the message
'restoring to previous registry'
as the registry is somehow corrupt... and I have to reinstall drivers etc... but I don't know why the registry is acting up as there is hardly anything on the computer now... as most of the stuff I moved off. I am confused how the registry became corrupted when it appeared fine the night before :dizzy:
Other times I can not even get into windows as it says
-While trying to initialize device IOS
Windows protection error you need to restart your computer.
OR
While trying to initialise device ConfigNG
Windows protection error you need to restart your computer
Or I do get into windows, and it seems to be ok... then it would suddenly freeze or RESTART itself :rotflmao:
I THOUGHT it might be the hard drive, so I moved everything off, used Seagate seatools to fill it with zeros, which I read would kill any left over trace of a virus (as I did have at least one). I also set up the hard drive using Seagate seatools discwizard.
I thought it may be the power supply as it was old and cheaper to replace, so I bought a new one.
I thought it may be the fan as it was also old, so I replaced it with no difference.
I tried what it said on the windows site for the particular errors, but the errors keep happening.
I am hoping that someone here may have another idea as I am fresh out and am ready to just replace the cpu and motherboard as they are old, and my motherboard would not support a new cpu so....
Any ideas? Any one? :rotflmao:
