modum trouble

Howdy... think I posted wrong before. Anyway, you were helping me try to get on line again. You last said...

Double click on the MODEM ICON, go to the More Info TAB and click, do a bunch of AT commands come up in a window? If so then the computer is talking to the modem, therefore, the modem is not talking to your ISP.

I tried to say back... Yes, lots of commands come up! Now what? Can it be fixed? Help!!!

Using the modem line from the wall, plug it into a standard home phone and see if you have dialtone. If not iether the phone jack or that line is bad. If you do, connect that line to the LINE or Wall connection of your modem. Plug the phone into the PHONE connection on the modem. With the computer powered on. lift the phone to see if you hear the dial tone. If you dont, 9 out of 10 says your modem need to be replaced.
