The curse of inbuilt speakers...help

My computer is running on windows 98 and the monitor is a packard bell model number 5480e with inbuilt speakers. The sound has never worked even though I have a sound card. Does anyone know how I connect the inbuilt speakers to the soundcard? Or see if there is a connection all ready?

Ya know.. I had this moniter, too lol. the speakers never really worked well. But on the side of the speakers, theres usually a small cord coming from the speakers.
That should connect to your sound card.
