In Word, when I want to write in bold, I would normally press ctrl+B and the little "B" button at the top would look pressed. However, this doesn't work anymore. The weird thing is, ctrl+U and ctrl+I both work. The only way I can write in bold is to laboriously click the microscopic button at the top. Interesting. Ctrl+B does work on this site. Seems like it's only Word then.
Any suggestions? Thanks. |

Have you added any plugins or macros that would override the CTRL+B keystroke?

Not that I know of. Certainly none directly changing word. Definitely nothing other than official Microsoft stuff.

1. Open Word,
2. Open Tools menu. 3. Click Customize. 4. Click on the Commands tab. 5. Click the Keyboard button at the bottom. 6. In the Categories list, select "Format." 7. In the Commands list, select "Bold." 8. Click inside the text field under "Press new shortcut key:" 9. Press CTRL+B 10. Click Assign. That's how it works in my version of Word (2000). I hope this works for you as well. |

Thanks a lot. It turns out Bold was Ctrl+Shift+B for some reason. I've changed that now and it works.
