Norton Internet Security 2003

My Dad is running XP home edition and has a problem with NIS 2003. When they login to windows this error message pops up:

Necassary component for this function is missing or damaged
c:\progra~\norton~2\norton~1\nazatw32.dll and in the bottom left corner is 1002,1

When they double click NIS they get this error message:

Script error
WEBND or DSO.XML document is null or not an object
url RES://NIDPLUG.dll/10036 and all the components for NIS says refreshing and stays like that.

When they manually do a live update for NIS they get this:

LU1844: This product prevented liveupdate from updating it. Check subscription for this product.

There subscription is good till Oct 2005.

Any ideas what I should do?

Thanks for all your help.

Can't find much on Symantecs website for this problem. Must be hidden.

Contact Symantec Support

Hi there

The first thing I would do considering the Norton Subscription is good until Oct 2005 is contact Symantec support; I have always found them to be thorough.

Try their online support site at http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/support_options.html

Failing that you may want to uninstall NIS 2003 and start again by using this procedure found at http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...rc=bar_sch_nam

Good Luck
