Hey, a friend gave me his Dell WIN ME to see if I could make it work. Will not boot
regardless of anything I've tried. Is it possible to connect his drive to my XP
as slave and run anti-virus & other utilities without killing my system?

I know his kids have been playing in the wrong playground! :leonardo:

Hello keithg_33 welcome to CTH.

No, it will not hurt to hook up the HD as slave in your PC so that your PC can scan for viruses in that HD. However, make sure you system's antivirus is up to date. Just don't try executing anything that happens to be on it that might make you curious - and that includes even opening their emails or viewing their graphic files.

Also what all have you tried in booting up the pc in question?

Can you even get into BIOS to set it up to try to boot from CD first and then doing it and trying a repair install of WinME?
