missing Control Panel icon?
Well I asked an aol tech how to free hard drive space and I told him I was using windows 95 but he sent me info on windows Xp but then I went back to the aol techs and asked if the letter with instructions could apply to windows 95 becuase they had sent me instruction on how to free hard drive space for windows xp and the tech said the instructions could apply to windows 95 and the instructions tell me click start then click on control panel then click on the network and internet connection Icon and then it show you how to delete cookies and files but the thing is when i click start and then click control panel there is no network and internet connection icon there. So I was wondering if maybe I somehow deleted some file that cuased the icon to dissapear? I say this cuz I when I was deleting files using the find files or folder(explorer I think thats what they call it)It has where you type in the type of file it is and then you click on FIND NOW and then the results show up with the types of files you searched for well anyways I put in ._ _ _ and the press FIND NOW and the results came up with what are suppose to be those types of files(I did this cuz I was told by aol tech it was safe and so did a website) but anyways IM not sure if somehow that is what cuased the Control Panel Icon for
NETWORK AND INTERNET CONNECTIONS to dissapear? So I was just wondering if someone could help me find out what happened to that Icon for NETWORK AND INTERNET CONNECTIONS???(using windows 95) um it says Internet Properties Icon is that the same thing? |

Hi there and welcome to the forum.
This is yet more evidence that AOL don't actually employ "techs" for their tech helpdesk. XP and Win95 are completely different operating systems seperated by 7 years of development. '95 does not have "Network & Internet Connections" applet in Control panel. You are correct that the "Internet Properties" icon is the one you need to look at.
