Office 2003 Big Problems

This is the third forum I've registered with just to fix this problem, so far I've had no luck whatsoever... so here's the story...

I have Office 2003 on my computer and up until recently it has been working fine... until all of a sudden whenever I try to start one of the Office applications I see the splash screen then I get the dreaded "This program has encountered and error and needs to close etc"

I've tried starting is safe mode, using the detect and repair... but still no luck, if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated

Hi Lainehart and welcome to cth.

If you are using Winxp or WinMe then try using system restore and roll back to when everything was ok.

Unfortunately I have always had System Restore disabled, so any other suggestions?

Not a good idea to turn off system restore. It can be very helpful. Have you tried reinstalling the software?

I know I should have System Restore on but I've had quite a few problems with spyware/adware hiding itself in the System Restore...
And yes, I've tried reinstalling Office already

Run your av software with updated definitions and then run anti spyware software namely, AdawareSE and SpybotS&D.

Did you uninstall office, reboot, and then re-install...or just tried to re-install?

Ummm... I uninstalled then reinstalled... no reboot though...
I scanned for viruses and spyware using ZoneAlarm and further scans for spyware using SpyBot and Webroot SpySweeper but I'm still having problems
