Hi
After reformating 98SE with the operating disc that came with the computer,it's now 98 without the second edition features .Is there a way to download the SE feature?
Thanks

No...as far as I know there is no legitimate way to download and install the SE upgrade as a whole. MS once sold an upgrade disc for about $20 US, for those 98 owners wanting to upgrade. I don't know whether they still offer the disc. Many of the features including IE 5 can be gotten piece by piece through windows updates, but these features are pretty much out-dated now anyway.
I have a question...
Since your restore disc only took you back to 98, then this was the original operating system installed on your machine. If you were running 98SE before the restore/recovery reformat, then you must have had this SE update disc at one time. You should be able to use it again.

Right click My Computer and choose properties. See what version it has listed for Win/98... The build number. Post it here.
Just curious, What features are you looking to get from the SE addition?

Hi Dodge,
I have 98 Second edition 4.10.2222A per System Properties
I lost two screen savers two backgrounds
I lost briefcase icon on desktop, download files
in Cdrive New briefcace icon in CDrive I tried to download the 98SE shutdown patch and it said that it was not compatible with this operating system.
So that why I was wondering how to get these features back..
Thanks for your and Maximallian quick response.
