This may not even be feasibly possible but I want to understand it anyway. I have on a DVD the output from about 45 minutes worth of video from a digital camcorder. I can watch the video from the DVD on my computer (http://www.experts-exchange.com/Applications/MultiMedia_Applications/Q_21523210.html#) with PowerDVD or Windows Media Player (http://www.experts-exchange.com/Applications/MultiMedia_Applications/Q_21523210.html#), no problem, both video and sound. The DVD has 2 subdirectories on it, VIDEO_RM and VIDEO_TS. Yowsers, what do I want to do? Someone suggested Adobe Premiere, so I took the DVD to a friend has has Pro v1.5 installed but could not figure out how that would help.

The desired end result, assuming filesize is not too huge, is to put this video on a web page (http://www.experts-exchange.com/Applications/MultiMedia_Applications/Q_21523210.html#) so people can view it, assuming they have the right software installed on their computer. How can this be done? What program(s) would be helpful? Or is the end result filesize going to be just plain prohibitive to even attempt?

Welcome :)

Obvisously the video in the original format is way too big for the web, but even with compression i'm not sure you would get anything fit for the web.

You would have to heavily compress it into MPEG-4 or maybe WMF format.

If you wanted to stream it in Windows Media or Real Media then you would need a web server that supports streaming.

Thanks for the response. I'd be willing to try the "heavily compressed" approach and see how it looks, which may be better than not having it available at all.

Do you have a suggestion for what software could/should be used to read the VOB files and create MPEG4 or WMF files? And if I find that my web host DOES support streaming, same question for importing the VOB files and creating Windows Media or Real Media format output? Also with either of the solutions above, would audio be exported with it?

Thanks
