itunes help

okay, so i just updated my new ipod photo on itunes. i minimized itunes and did other work while my ipod is still connected to my laptop. an hour or so later, i maximized itunes to find that ALL of my MUSIC and PLAYLISTS are gone. like totally gone. but i just checked my ipod, and stuff on there is still fine.

is there a way to transfer my stuff from ipod to computer without all getting earased- or is there a way to get my music back on itunes?
