I know it is simple, please excuse my ignorance.
How can I save an image in Point-Point as a screensaver please?
Thank you.:o

Hi SpN...what you want to do is not as easy as you would think, hence the lack of replies. You definitely need third-party software to achieve this.
My best advice is to go to www.google.com and use screensaver maker powerpoint as the search term. You'll get quite a few hits.

Ermmm...I have to ask. You do mean screensaver, not background wallpaper?

There is a Tutorial here (http://www.spart5.k12.sc.us/techtraining/powerpoint97/create_a_screensaver.ppt) but I dont have PowerPoint on this computer so I cant tell you whether or not it is easy to follow.

AnnMarie, HKEd:
Thank you for your response.
I would like to have the screensaver started by itself than having to launch the Power-Point first.
Also, I would like to save the images as screensaver as well, but I do not know how to do it. Any suggestions please?

Hi Simple plus Naive
You can do what you want, using two free downloads.
Irfanview: Image viewer and converter.
http://download.com.com/3000-2192-8209428.html?tag=lst-0-1
and Webshots Desktop: Allowes you to create screen savers
using jpeg images you choose.
http://download.com.com/3000-2336-8104160.html?tag=lst-0-1
After downloading and installing both programs, the first thing
to do is create a folder on the desktop, or wherever you like to
store the jpegs you will create using Irfanview. ( these will be used
in the Webshots Desktop)
Locate and double click the i_view32.exe
This will open a blank IrfanView screen.
Now launch the PP persentation.
When the First Image apears press the Print Screen/SysRq key.
Close the PPpres. Click Edit on the blank IrfanView and
select Paste.
Click File and select Save as.
Save in: the folder you created
File name: Clipboard01
Save as type: JPG-JPEG Files
and click Save.
Click Image and select Create New (empty) image.
In the window that pops up click OK
Relaunch the PPpres.
When the Second Image apears press the Print Screen/SysRq key.
Close the PPpres. Click Edit on the blank IrfanView and
select Paste.
Click File and select Save as.
Save in: the folder you created
File name: Clipboard02
Save as type: JPG-JPEG Files
and click Save.
Repeat this until you have saved all the images.
Now launch the The Webshots Desktop.
In the white area on the left side, right click
and select Make New.
Enter New Collection Name and click OK.
Drag and Drop the jpegs from your Folder to
the gray squares at the right of the white area.
Click Settings and click the ScreenSaver tab.
Uncheck the box Use Random Image Order.
Set the times as you like and click OK
I use both programs, they work very well.
